On August 5th we had the opportunity to listen to an inspirational speaker.
Kate leeming is the first woman in history to cycle the Canning Stock Route - a journey that took her over four deserts. This expedition was a ‘demonstration activity’ for the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005 – 2014).
Kate Leeming grew up on a wheat sheep farm in Western Australia and developed a passion for cycling. This is where little trips developed into big trips. She organised a trip across Russia aiding the ‘Children of Chernobyl’ and then set about researching her dream to cycle 25 000 km across Australia. Including the Canning Stock Route.
Listening to her story of how she achieved her dream was mind blowing. But the strategies she put into place to achieve that dream is the same for everyone who has a dream .
Kate had to be organized and set achievable goals each day.
To be able to work well with your team to achieve those goals.
Remain focused no matter how tough those sand dunes got.
She reminded us to be dedicated, realistic and enthusiastic towards your goals.
To have a positive attitude to achieve your mission.
Thank you Kate for your inspirational story.
