August 2007 - Online & Offline Marketing.

At this month's HomeBiz meeting, Matthew Tibble (Creative Junction) and Michael Hayes (The Online Shop Designer) developed an interesting case study around ‘Claire’, a personal fitness trainer working in the local area with a mission to succeed!.

Matthew introduced us to ‘Claire’ from ‘Zesty Lifestyles’ who has a small business offering personal training and health-related services, and sells related health products to clients. Matthew explained how Claire undertook a 12 step process in getting ready to go to market. The steps on which he expanded were:

1.   Researching the lifestyle Industry
2.   Defining Unique Selling Proposition
3.   Defining her Target Audience
4.   Developing a Brand
5.   Setting Goals
6.   Setting Product Strategies
7.   Setting Price Strategies
8.   Setting Operation Strategies
9.   Setting Promotion Strategies
10. Choosing Options For Marketing
11. Reviewing the Process
12. Cohesive Marketing – integrated       marketing message and brand.

Michael Hayes & Matt Tibble address the August 2007 HomeBiz Meeting
IFollowing the meeting both of our speakers were besiged with questions over supper

Michael took all the results from the 12 step process and examined the various options available to Claire to achieve success for Zesty Lifestyles. He summarised the available options as being:

-  Web site / Content Management System (CMS)
-  Online Shop
-  BLOG
-  Forum
-  Wiki
-  Email Newsletter

After examining each of these options against the needs of Zesty Lifestyles, Michael concluded that Claire would ‘get it all together’ using a combination of email newsletter, Online Shop and Info/Community BLOG.

Michael concluded his presentation by looking at some considerations for implementation. Overall, costs were not much more than that for a cup of coffee per day.

We suspect, after following the advice from Matthew and Michael, that ‘Claire’is now working hard and enjoying the financial rewards of her successful company ‘Zesty Lifestyles.’
