The HLinc Pat Nakouz AwardHLinc acknowledges the important contribution that research plays in the progress of our profession, and has decided to make available an annual research award. Mrs. Patricia Nakouz (1922 - 2003) was an outstanding pioneer of health sciences librarianship in Victoria and HLinc wishes to honour her memory by naming this award after her. The Pat Nakouz Award will be awarded annually for a project in the area of health librarianship, or financial support to advance the knowledge of those working in Australian health libraries, through sponsorship of professional development activities. An award of up to $1,000 is available to HLinc personal members or to librarianship students who intend to work in the health librarianship field. A condition of the grant is that the successful applicant will report findings to HLinc members, either through publication in Health Inform, or directly to the membership within 12 months. Applications must be made on the Application Form (pdf 44Kb) and submitted to the HLinc Secretary by 31 August of each year. Applications must include a resume and the names of two referees. Applications should include a description of the project, a proposed start date, a timetable for completion, and indicate the method of the presentation of the results.The winner will be decided by the HLinc executive, and announced at the annual HLinc conference.
Eligibility for
the Grant will be considered in terms of the applicant's health sciences
library experience and the relevance of the proposed research to the
HLinc Terms of Reference.
If no suitable applications are received, the HLinc Committee reserves the right to determine how and if the award will be given in each year.
