Honorary Life Membership to HLInc.

Purpose:

The purpose of the Award is to formally recognise those who have made outstanding contributions
to HLInc and Health Librarianship.  

Criteria:

Honorary membership may be conferred on a member whose contribution to HLI is deemed
as outstanding and of lasting importance to the advancement of HLI and Health Librarianship.

Process:

  1. A Call for nominations is made annually in April issue of Health Inform.
     
  2. Nomination form available here.          (37 Kb)
             
  3. Nominations to be received by June 30
  4. Members nominating a particular candidate should
    1. Ensure the candidate fits the criteria for Honorary Life Membership, that is;

·         Membership of HLI ( Current or in the past)

·        Has made a substantial contribution to HLI or other Health Library related groups.
I.e. Gratis, ALIA Health

    1. Provide a profile of the candidate that provides grounds for nomination.
      Could include but not limited to;

·        The candidate’s contribution to HLI or other Health Library related groups.

·        Candidate’s contribution to Health Librarianship

·        Candidate’s length of membership/ contribution

c.   Where possible supply a list of other people who are able to support / add to the nomination

  1. Committee will review nominations and select final candidate
  2. Committee can nominate candidates
  3. Candidate will be informed by the President and the Award presented at the Annual Awards dinner.

Please Note:

Serving Committee members can not be nominated.

At the discretion of the Committee more than one award can be presented annually.
