Military Display Team
Soldiers of the 40th Regiment of Foot (2nd
Somersetshire) circa 1852 - 1856, present Re-enactments,
mount Honour guards or present a Colour party for special occasions, using
a reproduction of the Regimental Colour.
The living history team accurately depicting a squad of British soldiers,
garrisoned in Victoria in the mid 19th century.
A typical display will consist of a Parade, followed by Arms Drill and
Volley firing by rank or squad, where the public is treated to the sight
and sounds of muzzle loading muskets being discharged and the smell of
black powder.
A lot of Research has been done to ensure that the Uniforms, Accoutrements etc. are accurate. we expect a high standard from our members to do justice to any living history event.
Our 40th Regt. also has the honour of being a member of
"The
Queens Lancashire Regiment"
of
which the old 40th became part, through various amalgamations.
