Sunday 13/10/91 and 3/11/91
a group of dedicated and determined persons gathered together
and reached a decision to form the Hindu Society of Queensland
and to acquire the property at 178 Lyndhurst Street, Boondall
for the purpose of a Mandir. The Society was incorporated
on 22 January 1992. The Mandir was officially blessed and
declared open at a function attended by more than 600 people
on Sunday 26th January 1992.
Aims and Objectives of the Hindu Society of Queensland
-
To preserve and foster the Hindu
way of life, philosophy and practices.

To provide facilities for the promotion
and understanding of Hinduism.

To establish the educational foundation
for the teaching of Hindu philosophy, culture, Indian
languages and other related subjects not taught
in a normal school curriculum.
- To establish other foundations providing for charity,
social welfare, etc.

Vision
Our vision is to be a successful religious and cultural organisation,
is to provide the best facilities for our members and to make
the Hindu Society of Queensland Inc. the most effective Indian
organisation in Queensland.
Mission
Our mission is to enhance the Hindu religion and culture by
celebrating all major festivals at the Mandir. We will focus
on the future and ensure that appropriate attention is given
to the many religious, social and welfare issues that benefit
all of us, especially our children.
