custom frame in the Hillman workshop |
When building
a custom bicycle frame or full bike, there are several important stages
involved:
- Full set of customer's measurements.
- Knowing exactly what type of frame to use, whether
it be for road, long distance, criterium, triathlon, track, touring
Audax etc.
- Building the frame accurately with a lifetime
guarantee.

Some of the options available to customers when
ordering a custom frame are:
- Triathlon
- Touring
- Road racing
- Track
- Mountain Bike
Measurements required by Hillman Cycles when constructing a custom
bicycle frame:
Height - from ground to top of head.
In seam - from ground to upper inner thigh.
Span - from fingertip to fingertip of outstretched arms.

When deciding to go ahead with a
Hillman bike, the purchase process is as follows:
- Measure up.
- Determination of usage.
- Pick the appropriate colour.
- A 20% deposit is required.
- The frame is then built and delivered within
2 to 4 weeks depending on the season.
All Hillman customers are provided with
after purchase service including organised training rides, extensive
staff knowledge, advice on races and triathlon, and basically anything
bike related.
