HDCA Future

The HDCA has now adopted the new organisational structure as agreed by all clubs during the June/July meetings. A new web site has been developed under the auspices of the VCA and full details may be found at http://hdca.viccricket.asn.au. Fixtures and results of all grades are located at this new site.

Season 2002/2003

The new season got underway last Saturday with matches played in four grades. Only the fourth Grade match at Chelsworth Park N/W between Heidelberg and Heidelberg West did not get started due to the ground conditions. City of Banyule have declared that the pitch at Elder St is not safe so Rosanna matches have been moved to Shelley Park. Work will commence to replace the concrete base at Elder St but this will take four weeks until the ground is ready for play. The grades are now:

Ten teams in First and Second Grades

Twelve teams in Third, Fourth and Fifth Grades.

Laws of Cricket

A re-write of the Laws of Cricket has been completed by Marylebone Cricket Club. These have adopted by the Australian Cricket Board and the VCA. These rules however were not adopted by the HDCA for Season 2000/2001. The reason for this is that we still do not have the new Laws available to distribute in book form. The VCA has recommended that local Associations play under the old rules for the coming season.

New Internet Site

The VCA has introduced a new internet site which we are trialling. The site may be found at:
www.viccricket.asn.au
This is a general site for all Victorian cricket information. You then do a search in the Association box for "heidelberg", which will lead you to information relating to the HDCA. I am building fixture information and this may be obtained at:
www.viccricket.asn.au/assoc.asp?a=14&i=fixtures

In future as the site develops, an easier path to the fixture information will be provided. A question to be faced by the HDCA is that this site provides the ability to enter all results for all grades. To do this however we need to decide how this information is to be collected and entered. As much or as little detail as we wish may be entered. It is possible to enter the full score sheet from the scorebook if we wish.

Have a look at the new site and provide me with feedback please.
