Music Library
The Hobsons Bay City Band's musical library is constantly being updated. Due to the number of pieces we own, we often add and remove charts to keep performances interesting and fresh, along with providing a challenge to our members.
Some of the pieces are relatively easy and can performed quite well without requiring much rehearsal. Other pieces are quite challenging, even for some of our more experienced members. The music folders are usually stocked with a good balance of pieces to cater for the skill levels of all of our members.
The band is well rehearsed in many styles of music ranging from classical to modern to pop. Many pieces are compilations of well-known musical numbers such as "What's up at the Symphony" and "Kartoon Kaleidoscope", which contain extracts from many tunes featured in various cartoons. Other compilations include selections from songs by: Andrew Lloyd Webber; The Doors; and Chicago, musicals such as: Chess; Les Misérables; and Cats, classical pieces including: Jupiter; Llwyn Onn; and Air For Band.
Here are a few samples of some of the pieces we own...
