Canada wins back the Back to Back Trophy
The Toronto Spiders, from Canada, won the trophy with a time of 5hr 52min 48sec. This beat the existing record of 5hr 55min 50sec, set by them in 2008. The result is a new Canadian Record.
Countries competing with Australia this year included Canada, Japan, UK, South Africa and the Czech Republic.

Australia wins back the Back to Back Trophy
The Spinning Knitwits team competing at Tocal Agricultural College, Paterson, NSW handspun and knitted a jumper from sheep’s back to theirs in just over six hours to win this years International Back to Back Wool Challenge.
Countries competing with Australia this year included Canada, Japan, UK, South Africa and the Czech Republic.

BACK TO BACK WOOL CHALLENGE

The results of the 2007 International Back to Back Wool Challenge are available in full by clicking on the image below.
This was the competition's 13th year and featured teams of blade shearers, handspinners and knitters competing at different venues around the world.
Each team consisted of a blade shearer, a country of origin sheep and seven handspinners (with spinning wheels) and knitters who follow the identical Challenge rules and pattern to knit the adult size jumper.
The winning team world-wide, Toronto Spiders of Greenwood, Ontario, Canada, had a time of 6 hrs. 0 min. 18 sec.
The record time set in 2004 by the Australian team, Pembroke Merriwa Jumbucks still stands [under 5 hrs.] and is recorded in the Guiness Book of Records.
The teams not only promoted wool world wide but raised substantial
funds for Cancer Research.

Canada and Japan.
