Looking back on 2010 we were introduced to gourmet cooking with some girls going to great lengths to complement the dyeing with something delicious to eat while the dye pot worked its magic e.g. carrot cake when the dye source was carrot tops.
The group was also fortunate to have Sue Tannet replace me when I went touring Australia. She introduced the dye sources of peach leaves, grapes, turmeric and carrot tops which from the results I saw gave beautiful colours.
The Dye Group continues to evolve with some members specialising in Shibori on silk, others creating beautiful woven, knitted and crocheted items, while others just enjoy the delight of capturing colours from nature.

Our feature dye for the web page this year is carrot tops.

At our final meeting for the year we had a guest speaker, Joanne who showed us her treasures purchased, shared her memories and some beautiful purple dye from her recent trip to Peru. |

If you are or become a member of the Guild we welcome you to come and join us either by the Web Group or personally at our dye days – 3rd Thursday of every month except Jan at 10.00am at the Guild.
If you have any questions about dyeing which I may be able to advise you on contact the guild via the email address and I will endeavour to help.
