Why are toys important? |
|
Children need to have direct experience with the world in order to make sense of and learn about it. Have you ever thought about all the things children learn after they are born? They learn how to talk, sit up, walk and run. They learn what things are and how they work. They learn about people and the world. They learn all this things by playing with toys. Toys are important for exercising children's muscles such as rocking horses and riding bikes. Toys help children learn co-ordination and balance. Toys invite children to create and use their imaginations and develop self-confidence, self reliance and self esteem. With toys children can use energy, discover emotions and release tensions. So why not join the Geelong West Toy Library and provide your child with new toys every two weeks. Come and talk to us, or make an appointment for an introductory tour. We'll be only too happy to show you around and answer any of your questions.
