OutOfOrder
Sometimes it just takes poets with their sharp observations
and words like heat-seeking missiles to cut through the crap of 'everyday'
speak and to remind us how things really are.
According to Don Watson, in 'Death Sentence – The Decay of
Public Language', "public language remains the language of power. It has
its origins in the subjection or control of one by another."
'OutOfOrder' this month presents yet another group of poets
who fight to retain a language that can be understood on a human level,
heart-to-heart. Here are words which can singe and smoulder into the
imagination. Poets ought to be our national heroes.
