Introduction to Greenlink

Greenlink Box Hill Inc. is based in Box Hill, an eastern suburb of Melbourne, Australia.

Greenlink is a voluntary organisation that works in conjunction with the City of Whitehorse Parks and Gardens staff in restoration and management of local flora. Our activities focus on propagating plants at our nursery and re-establishing them in their natural habitats throughout Box Hill.

Who can join Greenlink?

We invite interested people of all ages to join our activities. Everyone can contribute, regardless of their skills and experience. Working together is not only an interesting and pleasurable experience but also a great opportunity to learn about, and re-establish, the vegetation of the Box Hill district.

Our aims

To enhance and preserve the natural environment by propagation of indigenous flora.

To develop an appreciation in the community of the value of indigenous flora.

To encourage the nurture of existing plant life.

To encourage the development of habitats for the increase and migration of indigenous fauna.

Our objectives

To propagate and plant out indigenous plants on public land in the City of Whitehorse.

To encourage and assist the planting of suitable indigenous plants in private gardens.

To educate the community on the importance and appropriateness of regenerating the natural environment.

To identify and develop greenways to enable the migration of wildlife within and across the Municipality.

To communicate with other groups pursuing similar interests.

To co-operate with the City of Whitehorse, and any other relevant body, in order to further the society's objectives.
