Aims and objectives are to:

 

1. Promote Greek culture and language in the general community

2. Assist the Greek community in accessing services

3. Undertake research and surveys to establish community needs

4. Advocate for the needs of the Greek community and especially for the needs of its elderly

5. Manage the Community’s property and related resources

 

In practise:

 

1. We promote Greek culture and language by  preserving the Greek traditions at home, practising the Orthodox religion and by providing Saturday language classes for young persons.

2. Our priest and other organisations, particularly the ladies club, are able to direct people to the appropriate welfare agency as well as regularly hold information sessions on a variety of topics.

3. We regularly consult with our members and have identified a number of community needs of which a nursing home, for the aged, is but one.

4. We regularly make representations to Council, local political representatives, the Migrant Resource Centre and the Victorian Multicultural Commission.

5. We maintain the Church in Mills street and we are developing our land on Millers Road, Altona North.

6. We support elderly citizens clubs.

7. We have a couple of halls that we use to run our communities festivals and dances. These halls are also available for hire.
