The polypore fungi are hard and produce their spores on tissue covered in pores. The
fungi in this group mostly lack stems and are usually
attached to logs or tree trunks, and are commonly known as
bracket fungi.
Curry Punk
The Curry Punk (Piptoporous australiensis) is yellow
and orange bracket fungus that smells like curry. Its
fruiting bodies occur on burnt logs.
