The Grange   Introduction

What is The Grange Reserve?

The Grange is 6.6 hectares of  remnant heathland
vegetation. The reserve contains 3 different types of
plant communities:

  • sandy heathland (dry heathland) at the highest point,
  • stringybark woodland (wet heathland), and
  • swamp vegetation in the low-lying areas.
  The Grange is diverse, containing approximately:
  • 230 indigenous plant species,
  • more than 48 birds,
  • 5 mammals,
  • 4 amphibians, 
  • 6 reptiles, and
  • numerous insects.
