Animals in the Heathland
Habitat
The heathland of The Grange provides habitat for our unique
and important indigenous animals. There are
many different animals, birds, insects and other mini-beasts
found in The Grange. Some of these are obvious and easily
seen, such as butterflies, birds and dragonflies.
Hidden But There
There are many animals in The Grange, which are elusive. Some
fauna are camouflaged such as skinks,
and others are nocturnal, such as bats. Many
animals live in secretive places such as under bark, logs, or
in dense vegetation. There are animals that hear us coming
or sense our footfalls, and seek cover. After reading this
