GRAMYA .....
is a non profit, grassroots, voluntary organisation based in the Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh, India: a group of women, development activists and participants in the Indian Freedom Struggle and Women's Movement, supported by a wide network of women activists, locally and globally, and other citizens' groups and friends.

OUR VISION :

to create a just society with political, social and economic opportunities for women, particularly tribal and dalit women of India.

OUR STRATEGY :

* the development of tribal and dalit communities via self help and participatory initiatives for women, fostering leadership, self responsibility and skill development and via influencing public policy and campaigning for positive law changes for women.

OUR FOCUS :

* eradication of female infanticide and sale of girl children
* education for tribal and dalit children, particularly girls
* women's access to credit through self-help initiatives
*improving women's livelihoods, setting up livelihood networks
*developing sustainable agriculture practices with women
*strengthening healthcare systems to ensure women's reproductive rights
