Meet the Teachers

Hi there!

I have been at Grace Park Pre-School since 1998 and am currently employed to teach the children in the Three (3) year old group and Four (4) year old Inclusion group (Blue).

During the past 20 years I have also worked in other Pre-School Centres, however, I took a break when I had my own children. I returned to teach in a pilot program for a new 3 year old group at another Preschool (1989-1993).

I believe our Preschool is genuinely concerned about children being happy and learning in a caring and educationally sound environment. My program is play based and is structured to cater for children's needs through small and large group activities.

I also believe that as well as ensuring we meet the needs of the children, it is also important to set aside time so that I can be open and available to listen to the needs of the families.

The staff at this Centre are always striving to continue to develop new skills and strengths in order to offer the best program possible.

I am pleased to be part of the Grace Park Pre-School community.  I have been teaching for many years, both in the local area and further afield.  I believe strongly in working with children individually and as part of a group, recognising their strengths & interests, & helping them to reach their potential.  I also recognise the importance of outdoor play, and how this contributes to children's overall development.

My program is play based: I strive to present a wide range of experiences, including language/literacy, music, creative and problem solving experiences.

I have a personal interest in the natural environment, which fits in beautifully with this centre's philosophy.  I believe helping children to engage with our environment at an early age is very important.  The values learnt now will hopefully stay with them through their lifetime.

My name is Kylie and I'm married with 2 children, 1 dog and 4 fish. I have a diploma in Childcare and have been working in the early childhood field since 1983. This is my second year at Grace Park Pre-school where I work with Green, Yellow and Red Groups. I really enjoy the community feel of Grace Park and getting to know the families involved with the kindergarten. My passions are my family, travel and coffees with friends and family.

Hi, I'm Issy and I've been at Grace Park Pre-school now for one and a half years. I currently look after a special needs child in Red group. I'm married and have three children - Georgia (17), Xavier (13) and Addrienne (11). I enjoy reading and gardening and have 2 cats called Poodi and Tippee. I also help out at my daughter's school and am a qualified nurse.

Hi, I am Debbie and I am the assistant in the blue group.  This is my first year working at Grace Park Preschool.  I have worked in the preschool system for four years as an additional assistant through Broadmeadows Uniting Care.  I work 3 sessions per week at Grace Park and 2 sessions per week at another local preschool.  I am very lucky to have two jobs that I enjoy greatly.  When I am not at work I love spending time with my family and friends.  I enjoy going to the football with my children to watch our team win. Go Pies.  When I have free time I like to read, go to the movies or get into the garden.  I am married to John and we have 3 beautiful children, Jacob 11, Shevaun, 9 and Ethan 6.  We have a dog called Gypsy and a cranky cat called spiby.
