Starting at Grace Park Pre-School!!

During September, parents are notified that their child has been accepted into Kindergarten for the following year. An annual General Meeting is held in November and a representative from each family is asked to attend. The children are allocated into groups, a new committee is elected, reports are given and information regarding program starting dates etc. is distributed.

What to bring

Fresh or dry fruit, raw vegetables are to be brought in a lunch box. Water will be offered to drink. Snack time is a social and nourishing experience for your child.

Kindergarten bag or backpack, spare clothes, hat.

What to Wear

All clothing must be suitable for messy activities, climbing and other physical activities. Smocks are provided and worn, but do not always prevent paint, clay or paste from getting on children’s clothing. Instructing children to keep clean may prevent your child from participating in many worthwhile activities.

Runners and sturdy shoes with non-slip soles are preferable footwear. Thongs do not protect or support a child’s feet during Kindergarten activities. Gumboots are great for winter.

As the children will be going outside most days of the year, appropriate clothing should be worn. Warm coats and hats in winter and a sun hat and sunscreen in summer.

Sunsmart policy

A Sunsmart policy exists at the Kindergarten. Therefore all children are to wear hats while outside during Terms 1 & 4. If a hat is misplaced or forgotten, a Kindergarten hat may be borrowed, taken home, washed and returned at the next session. Children will be permitted to play in shaded areas if a hat is not available. It would be preferable that sunscreen be applied at home, PRIOR to the Kindergarten session commencing.
