The next importation consisted of two mated does.

  • BERKHAM HARRIET (AN3) who produced a single buck - Wingfield Solomon.

  • MELPAS MELISANDE (AN4) who also had a single buck - Wingfield Zadock.

On the last two shipments to reach Australia, prior to the ban of imports of ruminates, were five does.

  • BERKHAM ESMERALDA (AN8) Producing 3 numbered does

  • BERKHAM VANILLA (AN9) Producing 1 buck and 5 does

  • WAYWARD LUCINDA (AN10) Producing 4 bucks and 2 does, who were for Miss Berry of the Wingfield stud
    and;

  • HARLING HURDLER (AN5) Producing 6 bucks and 3 numbered does

  • PIXIES MERTATEN (AN7) Producing 2 bucks and 1 doe, who went to Mrs. Horton.

        In the early 1960's one of the first Anglo-Nubians to come to Victoria was Wingfield Rachel who went to the Sunglo Stud at Cardross near Mildura. About the same time Paul Bayard of Salette Stud, Pakenham commenced breeding Anglo-Nubians with Wingfield Luke, a Wedding gift from Miss Berry I believe.

        Today the Australian Anglo-Nubian is a very popular breed of goat. This is probably due to its many colour variations, exotic appearance and because of the sweetness of its milk.
