Escape from ArmageddonA Prophetic Novel for this Millennium and beyond by Ken and Val Walker Escape from Armageddon. © 1997 by Ken and Val Walker ISBN 0-646-34395-5 Published by Good News Australia, P.O. Box 642, Glen Waverley, Victoria 3150, Australia. Published on the internet at: http://www.vicnet.net.au/~gnaust/ and at http://mars.he.net/~goodnews/ Apart from the characters taken from the Biblical record, all other characters are fictional and any resemblance to any living person is entirely coincidental. All Scripture is taken from the New King James version of the Bible. Author's PrefaceAlthough we agree on what the Bible says about life, we are two very different people whose skills, abilities and writing styles are rather like the proverbial chalk and cheese. However, Val, using her imagination, has written the story, the outline of which we composed together. That was the fun and easy part. Ken has used his research skills to provide the Biblical facts and sequencing of events, as we have interpreted the Scriptures. The NovelNotes indicated in most chapters, and listed at the end of the book, were written by Ken to provide readers with extra factual and Biblical information. We believe we could not have written this book without the complementary skills with which we were endowed by our Creator. For many years we have both been vitally interested in what is happening in the world today and how it relates to what the Bible says will happen in the future. It was not at all surprising, we both, quite independently, had the same idea of writing this book as a novel, to attract readers to what is one of the most controversial aspects of the Bible. In particular, we are concerned for the masses of people in the world who have never heard what the Bible says will eventually happen. Many people walk around in blind ignorance of these things. The subject of the book, the War of Armageddon and the events preceding it, are things which many people have not heard of, and know little about. We hope this book will, if honestly read, eliminate that ignorance. So, in a very real way, this has been an enjoyable labour of love over a few years. Ken and Val Walker 1st December 1997 The NovelNotes FeatureThe story of Escape from Armageddon has been told as a novel, so that the reader can flow along with the excitement of the story line and not have to keep the Biblical basis of it foremost in mind. However, as some readers may be limited in knowledge and quite unaware of some quite surprising events in the story, there are notes given at the end of most chapters. There are indicators, eg(1) to show where additional information is available. These notes, which we have called the NovelNote Feature, give brief explanations of the Biblical, historical and prophetic relevance of some of the unusual things mentioned. FinallyThe authors are well aware of the range of interpretations of the Bible concerning these end time events. The book deliberately ignores most of the controversy and selects a biblical story line that tells of God's plan for the world and the people in it. ( The one selected it a pre tribulation rapture ) We could just have easily built the story line around a mid-tribulation or post tribulation rapture. The story line would have been a little different, but the evangelistic message to all people would have been the same. We consider the most important thing is that people who have not had the chance to learn Christian basics, nor even know that the Bible forecasts the end of this world as we know it, can now begin to do so by reading this novel. We hope it will be a starting point to motivate them towards further reading of the Bible. If Christian readers notice things that differ from their own point of view, then please remember the primary purpose of the book. It is to enlighten those who know little or nothing of God's plan of salvation. Please do not get caught up in differing eschatological interpretations and lose sight of God's plan for this earth, and His desire for each individual reader of Escape from Armageddon. |
