The Victorian Imbibers Club is a group of people dedicated to the appreciation of beer and its consumption in an appropriate environment. We believe that such an environment is in a pub.
The VIC is very serious about the qualities of a pub that make it a Proper Pub. The ambience of such a pub relies on the physical as well as human factors of the surroundings.
The VIC also looks for bar management and staff that have respect and appreciation for their beer, their pub and their drinkers. In our pursuit of Proper Pubs that serve good beer in a friendly and caring
manner, the VIC has committed itself to participate in regular Pub Tours. Apart from the general enjoyment of this participation, we aim to assess each pub on each tour on the quality of its:
1. BEER - Which is what we're really here for.
2. AMBIENCE - That quality in a pub that makes you want to stay all day
3. SERVICE - The manner of the bar keep and their care and respect they
show for their beer, their pub and their patrons.
