The word is that this fine establishment is to fall prey to the wrecking ball. It seems that the whole block is to be destroyed and redeveloped into something, godammit, modern.
The Elm's is one of the few proper pubs left in Melbourne's CBD. With the proliferation of smart, fashionable bars and nightclubs, pubs seem to be either dying or selling their soul. It would be a travesty if a pub that
has kept its nerve and maintained itself as a bastion of old fashioned pub culture became victim of big money and development.
The Elms promotes itself as 'A little country pub in the heart of Melbourne'. It is also
