- Induction start time
I've just discovered a discrepancy between the website and invitation
letter that was sent to new members regarding the start time of this
year's induction. Registration starts at 6:15 PM as indicated on the
invitation letter, not 6:30 PM as previously listed on the website.

- Newsletters, Induction and AGM
This website became a bit out of date due to final assignments
and exams, and is way overdue for an update.
Dinesh has been hard
at work on our newsletters, you can find the May and June issues in
our Newsletter section.
The full
details for our induction session is now up, as well as our annual
general meeting. There will also be a trivia night following
the meeting, although this will be a separate event to the AGM and
open to members and non-members. Those with a penchant for trivia
and an appetite for pizza would do well to check this
link out.

- Quick Updates
This year's induction ceremony has now been rescheduled for Thursday
15th July. Expect to see more details posted on the website in coming
weeks.
We've also
been informed of a Trivia night being run by the Red Cross
International Humanitarian Law Unit this Thursday.
People who are interested should check out this
flyer for details.

- Wine and cheese night postponed
As a result of our postponement of the induction ceremony, we'll also
be postponing the wine and cheese night, which was to be held next
Thursday. A major intention of the night was to show prospective members
what Golden Key was all about,
but since invitation letters have not yet been sent out this is not
possible.
Keep checking the site
for new details on the Induction Ceremony, the new date and time will
be posted here when it is finalised.

- New newsletter, wine and cheese night details
Dinesh has completed our first newsletter for the year. You can find
it in our newsletter section, or click here.
The location of our wine and cheese night has also been updated, it
will be at Bowen Place, building 28, level 3.
Unfortunately, invitations
for this year's prospective members have not been mailed out as anticipated,
so as a result the induction ceremony is postponed until a later date.
The new date will be posted here once it is finalised.

- Art Prize, Wine and Cheese night, Induction
It's been a while in between updates, and RMIT Golden Key has been
busy organising a few events.
Firstly, congratulations
to our finalists and three winners of last month's Art Prize. Pictures
taken on the night have been added
to Photos section, and details of the winners, including the dates
of their solo exhibitions will be posted here soon. Special thanks
to Leo for his hard work organising the event, and our event sponsors
Melbourne Artists' Supplies, RMIT
Union Arts, and 4Cats
Gallery.
Our next event will
be a Wine and Cheese night, on the 22nd of April (see above for details).
This night is for members and non-members alike, and will also serve
as a reunion of sorts with our honorary members. For potential inductees
who will have either received or will soon receive an invitation to
join Golden Key, this is a good chance to see what the society is
all about.
Preparations are also
underway for this year's induction ceremony, with invitations being
sent soon if not already. This year the venue has changed to Storey
Hall, meaning that we can now serve refreshments during the ceremony.
The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 11th from 6.00 PM. Expect
to see more details as the date approaches.

- Red Cross fundraiser (movie night)
I've been asked by a Golden Key member to draw attention to an upcoming
fundraiser for the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Department
of the Australian Red Cross. Those of you who are squeamish will be
relieved to hear it doesn't involve drawing blood. It's a cinema screening
of Paycheck, John Woo's latest film
starring Ben Affleck.
The Melbourne IHL
Unit has organised a movie night for Thursday 18th March at 6.30pm.
The venue will be Anderson Cinemas, Victoria Gardens, Corner Victoria
Street and Burnley Street, Richmond. Tickets are $14 adult and $11
concession. Proceeds from the night go towards the programs of the
International Humanitarian Law Department (Australian Red Cross, Victoria).
All tickets buyers also receive a 2 for 1 voucher redeemable until
the end of February and discounts at the snack bar.
For more details,
take a look at the flyer,
or contact Maryam Minai
or Christina DiPierdomenico.
Those of you interest in finding out more about the IHL department
can click here.

- Art Prize, Site Updates
Hopefully you've all been able to find your way to our new website.
I've put a redirect in place at our old location, however it only
works for www.goldenkey.rmit.edu.au.
Applications have
now closed for the Art Prize, good luck to all those who entered.
If you have any inquiries please contact Leo.
I've also taken the
time to update the site and add some content, including our newsletters,
and some new photos.

- We've Moved
Happy new year to all of our members! Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten
off to the best start for GK RMIT, with server problems forcing us
to relocate our site. I'm currently organising some sort of redirection
for our old URL, at the moment it doesn't point to anything.
Sincere apologies to those who've been trying to access the Art Prize
competition application form,
there are still around 2 weeks until entries close but if this delay
has caused major problems please email Leo.
10/12/2003
The Art Prize deadline has been extended to January 31st in order to
give those who've just seen our Art Almanac ad time to prepare an entry.
The updated application form is available here,
people who have already applied don't need to reapply with the new form.
Good luck to all entrants.
