Geelong Bird Report
Current 2006

The Geelong Bird Report is an annual report, compiled by Marilyn Hewish and published by the GFNC. It is published in December, collating the observations from the previous year. The 2007 observations were released in December 2008.
The detailed bird report for the Geelong area includes a brief current status report for all species, noteworthy observations, and records which over the years help to build up a general picture of the distribution and status of our birds. A gazetteer of place names is included. The Geelong area is defined as in Trevor Pescott's 'Birds of Geelong (1983)': from Werribee to Bacchus Marsh, Rokewood, Camperdown and Port Campbell, and including the Bellarine Peninsula, Werribee Plains, Brisbane Ranges, You Yangs, Western District lakes and Otway Ranges. The Western Treatment Plant (Werribee Sewage Farm) is not included."
The 2007 edition also includes a major article on "Crested Shrike-tits in the Geelong Region" by Dean Hewish and an article on "Historical Birdlists from Werribee Gorge" by Marilyn Hewish.
