Peter Dahlhaus will speak on the topic of "Landscape Evolution of the Geelong Area"
This presentation outlines the geomorphological history of the present-day landscapes of the Geelong Region.
Arrive at 7:00pm for a cuppa and a chat. Lecture commences at 7:30pm.

Monthly Excursion - Biodiversity Survey at Brisbane Ranges
Sunday 19th October

The site is private property in primarily native bush, adjoining a small reserve owned by CoGG. There are some steep sections. The area is mainly classified as Grassy Dry Forest and Heathy Dry Forest.  The property is just off Clarke's Road, Anakie. Assembly point will be at the Anakie General Store at 9:45am, from where we will make our way to the site. Alternatively meet at Adams Crt, Eastern Park, Geelong at 9 am for those wishing to car pool.

 

Bring wet weather gear, food and drink, reference material.

Mid-week Bird Group Excursion -

Thursday 23rd September

Hovells Creek, Western You Yangs
Leader: TBA

 

We have permission to enter the Wooloomanata Station section of Hovells Creek and we will also check the adjacent woodland. This area hosts a range of woodland birds (see the recent observations section).

 

Meet at the Corio Village Shopping Centre carpark, southwest corner, adjacent to Gellibrand Street, at 8:30am or at 9:00am at the You Yangs Information Centre carpark.

 

Bring morning tea, drink, wet weather gear, a hat, binoculars and strong shoes.

Note: The walking distance of the excursion is about 4 Kilometres over 2 1/2 hours.

Finish: around mid-day.
