Chestnut-tailed Heathwren 1 8/10/2009 Anglesea Cnr. Gundry’s Rd. and Forest Rd. Beautiful tuneful subsong heard briefly from heathy from shrubs at the foot of a small tree where Magpie briefly perched in the bare upper branches. Not certain, but the most sensible explanation for the identity of the singer, given the locality, habitat and tuneful quality of the song was for a Heathwren singing whilst under stress from proximity of the Magpie. Singing stopped when Magpie flew away and singer could not be located. CMo
