Christian Hansen and Johanne Laurine Larsdatter

1. Christian1 Hansen [#907], born abt. 1820 in Aderup, Denmark. He married on 19 May 1851, Johanne Laurine Larsdatter [#908], born abt. 1822 in Aderup, Denmark.

He married on 28 Dec 1888 in Snesere sogn, Praesto Amt, Copenhagen, Denmark, Karen Kirstine Jensen [#419], born 10 Dec 1856 in Snesere, Praesto Amt; died 23 Jan 1926 in Bispebjerg, Hospital, Denmark, daughter of Jens Hansen [#905] and Karen Jacobsdatter [#906] .

Notes for Jorgen Christiansen

Jorgen was one of a pair of technically illegitimate twins when the father was called into army service before he could marry. At the time of his wedding Jorgen was working at Herlufsolm, a manor just north of Naestved. Jorgen and Karen moved into Valby in 1888. They moved from Naestved. 1901 census. The census records one living child and none having died. Jorgen bought the house at Vigerslevvej 122 on 5th January 1891 and sold it 19th July 1920 to market gardner P O Kristensen. [Vigerslev, Matrikel No 4e]. The estate was 801.4 sq mtrs. Sale price 15,000 Kroner. The house had four rooms for habitiation, a stable and a wagon gateway. Jorgen was listed as a laundry owner. Karen was baptised at home, because of 'weakness', 14th December 1856 and in church 15th February 1857.

He married Constance Kate Prior [#49], born 29 Apr 1895 in Burleigh Road, Cheshunt, Herts, England; died 2 May 1975 in Hostel of God, Clapham Common, London, England, daughter of Charles Prior [#48] and Kate Florence Clark [#39] .

Notes for Jens Christiansen

Jens was born in Vigerslev when it was part of the parish of Hvidovre. His birth is recorded in the Valby & Vigerslev 1892-1925 volume, archive registration no 3-152-11. He was baptised at home by teacher Larsen 12th April 1892 and presented in church 24th July 1892. Jens was confirmed on 5th Sunday in Lent 1st April 1906. He left Denmark to study horticulture in Muren in Switzerland followed by study in England starting in 1913. He was trapped by the First World War. He stayed in England, established his own nursery at Pick Hill, in Waltham Abbey, Essex in 1921.
