Preliminary Genealogy Stalpaert van der Wiele (1300-1700)

Introduction

Later further members of the family were added. In this , the assistance from Mr. Cees van der Velde in the Hague proved invaluable and later Mr. Leo van Amsterdam also from the Hague contributed much.I cannot emphasize enough that the following information constitutes only a bare skeleton of the complete family, because this family has many branches spread over a large geographical area. and that.further information is available and in due time when worked through and confirmed, will then be added .

The family was originally named van der Wyele ( van der Wile,Wiele etc).
This changes after the death of Adriaen van der Wyele who was married before 1465 to Everarda van Poelenburg. The widow then marries Johan Spalpaert. On the death of the latter( himself childless) he leaves his estates to his widow however suggesting that the children of her previous marriage add his name to theirs. Hence the name Stalpaert van der Wiele.
