One of the major indigenous mammals in our area is the bat. The Greater Dandenong Environment Group has part-funded the purchase of an Anabat bat detector for the Field Naturalists Club of Victoria. It is hoped that the FNCV will do regular surveys in our area so we can monitor the abundance of bats in our city.
