The Alternative to the World Economic Forum
Saturday September 9th 2000

Commencing 9am ( Registration from 8am )

Victoria University of Technology Conference Centre

12th Floor, 300 Flinders Street, Melbourne

The World Economic Forum is where global corporate elites plan the shape of the world as they believe it should be, without input from the community. It influences international bodies like the World Trade Organisation which make crucial decisions about the global economy and constrain the power of national governments accountable to citizens.

The Conference an opportunity to collaborate to develop an alternative model of international cooperation for the good of all through input from participants with genuine links to the community. It will consist of addresses by keynote speakers; thematic workshops facilitated by people with experience or knowledge of the relevant area and a final session at which participants in workshops report back to the Conference.
