Welcome to our group. Your little Linus (great name, by the way) sounds like
a neat kid. It's great that he survived a problem pregnancy with no long-term
effects.
With regard to his size, I wouldn't worry. His weight and height sounds about
right for a
2 1/2 year old. My almost three year old (full term) is only a couple of
pounds and couple of inches more than your little guy. Let his appetite take
care of itself.
As for being overprotective: don't berate yourself. It's perfectly normal. I
don't know if it is a preemie thing or a first baby thing, since my preemie
(now almost 5) is also my first. I'm still a little overprotective of her.
But, remember, your guy is only 2 1/2. You shouldn't force yourself to let go
just yet. There will be plenty of time for that when he reaches school age,
and believe me, it comes faster than you'd expect.
