 I think it has something to do with male testosterone slowing the production
 of surfactant in the lungs of boys.  I don't think anyone knows for sure why
 black babies do better.  Maybe Dr. Doug could comment further???

I seem to remember Doug saying that there is a thought maybe black babies
tend to fare better because of the climate/environment that Afr. Amers
evolved.....
