I would like to support Andee's comments concerning her petite girls.

My daughter Elizabeth, born 32 weeks at 3 lbs 3 oz. was also a slow grower, 
described as fail to thrive.

We spent alot of time, frustration, anguish over her inexplicable slow 
growth.  Finally at about 3 yrs the ped. asked us about the heights of 
grandmas. They are both 5 foot nothing.  Well, he then decided she was just 
going to be a small girl.

I do think that this is easier to cope with for a girl, as being petite is 
no real social problem for girls.  Good luck with your boy.
