I can remember having to do feeding with my son in NICU and having a PT
hanging over my shoulder trying to get a look at his sucking action. Of
course he would never suck on command and stymied the PT.
Now, 3 and a half years later, I discover from the Speech Therapist that he
has low tone in the muscles of his mouth, jaw etc. Could that have been
forseen?

He never saw a PT after discharge. They were supposed to be at clinic but
always got tied up (gripe, gripe).I discovered much later that they had
some concerns at discharge but were never communicated to me (gripe, gripe
on discharge practices - for another post sometime)
He sees an OT now as well as Speech Lady.
What else would a PT look for in the early months, years?
