Michelle,
Pumping for the entire 2 1/2 monthe our daughter was in the NICU made me feel
like I was doing something for he no one else could.  Since there were many
times we weren't able to hold her and it seemed her primary nurse had more
contact with her than I, I looked forward to pumping every 3-4 hours.
My husband even joked I was having an affair with the hting. He of course had
never been hooked up to it !!
Unfortunately Danielle NEVER NEVER took any interest in breast feeding
eventhough we did try as soon as she was able.
I had enough breast milk stored to feed her for almost 3 months after she was
home.  I did eventually have to stop pumping almost right before she came
home from the NICU.
