Hi,
Now that everyone has gone to bed and the house is finally quiet, I thought
I would post a short introduction.
My name is Colleen. I have 3 children. Andrea will be 3 years old next
month, and Evan and Gillian were 27 weekers who are about 9 months old now.
Andrea is a really sweet kid...extremely patient with Evan and Gillian.
Evan is quite active, not really a cuddler...really anxious to get moving.
Gillian is a cuddler. She is quite content to sit and be entertained.
We had a rather typical course in SCN...I would have preferred an
exceptionally good one...but that part is history now. Thus far things have
been going well. Busy, but well.
I am an RN who works in ....SCN of course! I have worked in SCN for about 8
years now. It was quite an experience to have my babies cared for in the
same unit that I normally work in. There were a few benefits to that, but a
few drawbacks as well. My leave is over at the end of the summer and I am
looking forward, (with a little fear and trepidation!) to returning to work.
It is interesting for me both from a professional and personal stand point
to hear stories and experiences that other parents have. I also find it
interesting to hear what other NICU units do in comparison with my own here
in Canada.
