Well, our situation is different, but I'll still add my .02 worth.
Joshua is immobile for the most part and he's VERY attached. I can't leave him in his
room so I can go to the BATHROOM 1/2 the time without listening to him scream in terror
that I'll never come back. He goes through phases.. used to let me leave him there when
he was about 15 months, no way now. He's OVERLY attached to his daddy. If Daniel goes
out to check the mail, Joshua crys big tears til he comes back.. Poor Daniel gets
exhausted carrying him from the moment he comes in til Josh goes to bed.
Josh won't sleep in his own bed. He sleeps with us -- but we don't mind it most of the
time... and basically he can't do anything for himself so I would say that REALLY makes
him attached. Its like having a 6 month old (physical abilities) who has the body and
intellegence of a 2 year old. I'm sure its as frustrating for him as it is for me -- and
then some.
However, I plan to send him to preschool in the fall to get him used to being away from
me for little bits of time.. I want him to be independant and self-reliant because for
him that's the one way he'll gain self-confidence that he can make it on his own.
Gotta go.. Josh is sitting here asking for his "dog CD-ROM" and saying "Toooo Funny"
Wonder where he got that? I say it too much, I guess. ;)
