There was no Kangaroo Care in our NICU back in 1993. Maybe there is now-
I'll have to check and see(Sinai Hosp, Balto., MD). The breastfeeding
attempt is a long, awful story but in a nutshell- Justice hated the breast
(talk about feeling rejected...!) Destiny took to it well- then the milk
ran out(sob sob) When they finally got home, I don't think they were out
of my lap for more than 2 or 3 hours a day. They were both kind of irritable
(understatement of all time!) and one of them was usually awake so I sat
and literally rocked for hours. This is not an exaggeration. I always had
a baby on my lap, shoulder or hip. They both still love to cuddle at 3 years
5 months and we have a family bed(plusses and minuses to that, but no
spouse to worry about) so we are physically close a lot.
