Mary,
Congratulations on making it to 34 weeks! Shooting for 36 is a good idea.
I delivered at 32 and was so uncomfortable for the previous week or two that
I was glad to get it over with. But had I known how difficult it is to be
separated from my baby while she's in the NICU, I would have been glad to
suffer for another couple of weeks. Julie's been in for just over a month
now and may have only another week and a half to go. This is a baby who
hasn't had any major problems since birth--except one brief bout with
infection--and her hospital stay will end up being at least six weeks.
Remember, every day you can hold on to the baby and keep her (?) healthy in
utero is that much less time in the hospital. Good luck!
