I don't know if it is cooincidence or not, but, Sara (also a 25 weeker,
surviving twin) is the toughest child I have ever seen. Last night
for example, she was attempting to climb into her bed at her grandmother's
house and slipped. She slammed her chin down on the wooded bed rail.
Not a tear. I was of course going through the comfort thing and she's
looking at me like I am crazy. I said, Did you bite your tongue?
No, she says, want to climb into bed again. You would have thought
I imagined it all!!
This is typical behavior. My mother and I are always saying that she
doesn't cry over things that most children, or us for that matter,
would cry over. Of course both her father and I have never been, "Oh
you poor baby" types. If she's playing and falls down we laugh, say
whoopsie! and don't make a big deal out of it.
My 2 cents...
Tracy (mom to Sara)

Subject: pain
I would like to have more informations about the impact of pain on premature
babies when they grow older (when they reach 5 to 12 years old for example).
Do your children have problems with it? Do you know articles on the subject?
My son,5 years old and a 25 weeker (a
surviving triplet), don't know what is pain. He is very tough and never cry.
What do you think, do you have the same experience?
Gaelle.
