I just signed onto this about 2 weeks ago and realize that almost eveyone
that is writing have preemies that were in far more serious medical crisis
than my twins born at 31.5 weeks (now 14.5 mos). Aside from ventilaors for
2-4 days and a partial lung collapse for my son, they really just had some
apnea and bradies and low birth weight (4 lbs and 3,10 lbs )and had to stay
in the NICU for 3.5 weeks and our hospital for 1.5 weeks. It was hard, then,
but nothing like the very ealy preemies and surgeries and such you're
describing, that must be terribly hard to go through emotionally.( my
thoughts are with all of you!)
My question is, are there other parents out there with preemies who did
not have all these complications (but may be dealing with some minor
developmental delays now) or are most of you parents of preemies with more
severe medical complications??
I already belopng to two twins lists, so with those and the preemie
list, I've got a lot of mail to go through.
