As far as long periods of time without holding your baby, it is terribly
hard. I coped just by being there and watching him and stroking him when
he was able to cope with the stimulus. It seemed an awfully long time to
me, but looking back I guess it was about 2-3 weeks of a concurrent bout
of pneumonia, NEC and real(not neonatal) jaundice when I wasn't allowed
to take Justice out of the Isolette. I also cried a lot. Hey, nobody's
perfect!
We had a few preemie outfits which I still have to this day and will
never part with. But mostly we bought x-small stuff. They do grow fast
and the preemie clothes are pretty expensive for the short amount of time
you'll need them. The Little Me brand was a favorite of mine. I guess
there are Burlington Coat Factories outside of Maryland? Anyway, they
have a good supply of Little Me and other x-small stuff.
