I bought Pampers newborn size for both kids. They worked well, and the least
expensive place I found was Toy's R' Us. (Formula was also the least
expensive there.)

I had both extremes on this one. Alex grew very quickly so his preemie
clothes lasted maybe 3 weeks. Andrea grew more slowly, so her preemie
clothes lasted 2 months. I then put her into Carter's newborn sizes (Baby
Dior worked well for her too.) that I found at the local outlet mall.
Otherwise she pulled her legs up in her sleeper so the bottoms just flopped
around. Neither of my kids liked gowns, and it was winter, so we didn't use
a lot of onesies.
You'll do fine! :-)
