Thanks to everyone who responded to my questions about preemie diapers and
clothes. Since everyone was pretty much in agreement about going straight
for the newborn diapers and buying only a few preemie outfits, I feel much
more confident now.
I'd also like to thank all of you for your kind condolences about the loss
of our Melanie. We're coming to terms with it and thinking of her as her
sister's special guardian angel. I talk to her a lot, and that helps.
We're also planning to plant a tree as a memorial as soon as Julie can come
home and take part.
There's good news to report today about Julie's broken leg. The orthopedist
splinted it yesterday (taking her off the "positioning" pillow) and says
that as soon as she stops showing signs of pain when the leg is moved, we
can hold her again. That may only be a week! I also really liked the idea
about pinning a piece of flannel close to my skin and then putting it in her
crib. I'll have to try that.
I'd like to write more, but it's time to go pump. Boy, will I be glad when
I can replace that machine with my own precious baby!
