The Lawson Research Institute of St. Joseph's Hospital in London, Ontario
is currently in the second year of a large million dollar research project
into the causes of premature labour. Every mom that goes in for delivery
full term or not is asked if they will give a blood sample. They are
looking for labour indicators, hormones etc in the blood. St.Joes is a very
large NICU and the hopsital is also connected to the University of Western
Ontario Medical school. I am not sure if there is a large umbrella group
looking after research, ie the Cancer Society or if projects are solicited
by individual hospitals. Maybe a neonatologist can advise you.
