I live in Canada so preemie stuff is non-existent. The hospital gift shop
had some knitted outfits. We took a shopping trip to Detroit and
discovered the Little Me brand of outfits which are great because they
usually come with hats. Get snap front ones to leave room for the monitor
wires. Also, JC Penney extra small sizes of sleepers gowns and hats fit
well. We had four and saved one for coming home. We were able to go to
the hospital every day sometimes twice so it was enough. Sometimes though
we didn't and the NICU clothes knit by the well meaning hospital volunteers
had very interesting colour combinations.

Also, if you put socks on the baby and then put on the sleeper, the feet
"stick" to the socks and you don't get the floppy feet look.

Save your favourite preemie outfit. Buy a small to medium size teddy bear.
( I used a Triaminic Cough medicine bear, freebie). Dress the bear in the
outfit and put it up on a really high shelf. Makes a great memory.
