I had my son at 33 weeks, I was diagnosed with HeLLPs, he weighed 4 lbs 10 oz, I remember they gave me steroids to speed up his lungs, but then they had to do a emergency c-section because my liver enzymes were elevated severely. He turned 1 year old June 27, Perfect health, I was very lucky, he was in the NICU for 1 month. They told me I have a 20% chance of this occuring again.
The nurses did tell me that they did a study on Hellp syndrome and if the woman stays with the same father, chances are this won't happen again.
Course I was overweight when I got pregnant, and they told me if I watched my weight and salt intake I should be okay. I do want another baby, but the weight has to come off.
Also, a little tidbit, if you ladies watch, "party of five", Daphne had HELLP sydrome when she had Diana prematurely.
